Madh Island is located on the North West coast of rural Mumbai, Maharashtra. This area is bounded in the east by the Malad Creek and on the western side by the Arabian Sea. Connection with all regions of Mumbai by road and waterways are there to reach Madh Island.

This place gives peace of mind and is a complete escape from the heat and dust of the hurried and exhausted life. It is known as the place where one can rave parties that are thrown discreetly. In recent times, it has developed into a popular tourist spot and has several popular bungalows, resorts, and attractive places for picnics. There are several small fishing villages and farmlands and it is an ideal place for weekend picnic.

Versova Beach is located at a distance of 23 km from the Madh Island. The beach is located close to the Juhu Beach and is separated by a creek. The inhabitants of the region are the Kolis, the largest fishing community of the Mumbai City. Travellers can see many fishermen on the seashore with their fishing nets. The Juhu Beach and the ISKCON Temple are popular attractions nearby Versova Beach.

Marve Beach is situated in the north of the Mumbai City. The Gorai and Manori are the popular beaches near the Marve Beach.

Erangal Village is located on the Madh Island and is known for the Erangal Beach. The village also has two ancient forts and the Dana Pani Beach which is situated 5 km from Island. Farming is the main occupation of the inhabitants of the village.

Aksa Beach is located very near to the Madh-Island and lies within the village of Aksa. It is an ideal picnic spot and has hotels and private cottages located nearby the beach.

Madh Fort is also known as the Versova Fort and is located in the north of Mumbai. The fort was constructed by Portuguese, who used it as a watchtower. From the fort, travellers can view the Gorai, Worli and Mumbai Beach Skyline. Many Indian movies have been shot at this location. The Indian military use the fort for giving training to the cadets.

St. Bonaventure, a famous church of 16th century was constructed by Portuguese. The church is situated on the beach in Erangal. The annual Erangal Feast held on 2nd Sunday of January, celebrating the Feast day of St. Bonaventure, attracts thousands of people of all faiths to this spot.

The nearby areas of the Island include Ghodbunder, Kanheri Caves and The Sanjay Gandhi National Park which also attracts tourists from all over. October - June is the best time to visit this place because at this time there is less humidity and the weather is pleasant.  Number of hotels like Leela Kempinski Mumbai is available to serve the delicious food to its visitors.
